Using Flickr material for class activities (static - Flickr as a webpage or visual aid)

  1. show two picture- one has been changed - to get learnes practicing the present perfect
  2. have learners individually choose a tag to follow in order to find a set of pictures that appeal to them. They then describe these pictures, saying why they have chosen that particular set.

 

 

Using Flickr to produce material and interact (dynamic - Flickr as a meaning making and social activity)

  1. students take photos and upload them to Everyday scenes or Holiday surprises, adding a title, a description and tags. They can comment on each other and find and join a group where they could add their photo to, comment on other people’s photos.
  2. learners choose a dish and write down the recipe.
    They then photograph the dish or the process of making it and put it on
    flickr, tagged and with the text they have written
  3. Flickr meme: Here are the rules:
  • Think about what you are passionate/curious/ about learning/doing/playing/
  • Post
    a picture from a source like FlickrCC or Flickr Creative Commons or
    make/take your own that captures what YOU are most passionate about and give your picture a short title.
  • Title your blog post “Meme: Passion Quilt” and tag it passionmeme.
  • Include links to 5 people in your network or whom you follow on Twitter/Pownce.
